Day 124 - Can a horse be too muddy?

Baggy went to Fat Club. So far, so less of Baggy! All good. Furry Mama walked the Minty Mutt for an hour. Got home seconds before Calum did. All good. The Domestic Goddess rustled up a healthy pasta for lunch. Baggy ate twice as much as Calum. Clever Bird reckons that Baggy is still trying to fill the Lawrence hole. All good. Furry Mama threw the cats out for some exercise as it was such a beautiful day. She threw the Minty Mutt some biccies on his bed. Then Baggy and Calum headed off to purchase (with the gift vouchers from Baggy's bank, so it was free - free - free! Oh yes!) a new lawnmower, so that Gloria Gardener will be able to cut the lawn. She's so excited. She's even more excited because Calum talked Clever Bird into letting him have a bunch of plants too. Of course Gloria will be required to plant them all, but as she is actually beginning to enjoy being a gardener, that's all good too.

In the middle of all this The Domestic Goddess had a little bit of a falling out with the distribution centre that is delivering the new sofa and chair to the Baggy household. They left Calum a message with a phone number it was impossible to hear. By the time they had listened to the message about six times, Clever Bird finally figured it out. She called at about 2.00pm today and was told that "We will be delivering your furniture on Monday March 14th". "Urmm, this Monday?" "Yes". "Well, actually we'll have to check that Calum can get the day off. It's very short notice." "Of course. That's not a problem. Check and give us a call back later". Calum and Baggy went into Calum's office. Asked nicely. Schedules were changed. Calum had the day off. Clever Bird phoned back. "I'm just phoning to confirm that delivery for Monday is fine". "No, it can't be Monday. Monday is full. It will have to be Tuesday". "It needs to be a Monday or Friday as my husband is away all week". "It can be Tuesday or Wednesday".

To say that Clever Bird was not amused would be an understatement. To say that Calum "lost it". Well. He gave up on the person on the phone. Insisted on the Manager phoning him. She was plain rude. And very unhelpful. Calum threatened to cancel the order. She threatened him with the terms of the contract. No apology for their screw up. Just rude. Calum said we would collect it ourselves tomorrow. She put us through to the store. They (unlike the madam at the distribution centre) were apologetic and lovely. The sofa and chair will be delivered next Saturday at no extra cost. Now why could the madam at the distribution centre not have organised that? Grrrrrr! But at least Calum now doesn't need to "waste" a day's holiday. All good (in the end).

Grotty Groom went to the yard. The Boys have been out without rugs on today. You could not see horse. Just gloop. And tons of fur falling out. They were very happy mud monsters. Lots of grooming. Lovely. All good. The Goddess has just made healthy chilli con carne. The fire is lit. The furries are fed. The blog is (nearly) done. Creative Clara will see how much more of her book writes itself after supper. Tomorrow, Grotty gets on the computer horse. Yee-hah! Happy weekend bloggees..........
