Lady Eadwynn appeared today.

One of the most elusive members of the gang came out to play today; Lady Eadwynn, the Saxon married to a Norman Knight, has spent the day at the East Anglian Museum of Rural Life at Stowmarket today.

It was a lovely day, as it's a multi-period show, with every body from the early-Romans, through to WW2 there, doing their thing. Clever Bird isn't sure what it is about these shows though, that makes the men-folk get (how can Creative Clara put this nicely?), "frustrated" before the event, but to say that Calum gets a little tetchy, would be to put it mildly. The show's so close, that they are not even staying over, and are now home with the furries, but still, this morning Hormonal Hannah was treading on egg shells, and at one point told Calum to go on his own. But in the end Clever Bird persuaded her that Baggy needed to go, or the situation would have had Hannah in a meltdown on her own, at home all day. As it turned out, it was a lovely day. Exhausting, but lovely. The main reason that they are home, is because Furry Mama was much too worried about taking Minty Mutt, as it was going to be so warm. But also, Baggy much prefers her sofa and a comfy bed these days! So they'll be heading back again tomorrow morning. But Calum and the rest of the guys, had a very full-on fight with a new Viking group, who fight using "eastern" rules - no holds barred - hit where you like (apart from the face). Freda Fretter found watching them, terrifying and entertaining in equal measure. But all Calum's angst, frustrations and stress had disappeared after a couple of hours of bashing people with a sword. His knee is an interesting shade of purple this evening, but at least there were no trips to A&E; well not by the combatants anyway. Sadly one of their friends slipped in a hole and is currently in A&E waiting to hear whether she has broken her ankle. Fingers crossed that she hasn't.

But after beating up (and being equally beaten up) by the Vikings, Calum and Lady Eadwynn went for a little exploration of the show. In the craft tent, Baggy fell in love with a beautiful throw/cape/pashmina, not sure what to call it, but it's bright orange, with Lawrence-style furry pom-poms on it, and it's GORGEOUS. Calum bought it for Baggy, by way of an apology for upsetting Hormonal Hannah this morning. Love him. Then on a later visit to the same stall, Baggy also ended up with a beautiful silk scarf. Spoilt Baggy! She has her eye on a cashmere "cardigan" (that isn't a cardigan too), well there's always tomorrow.........
