One of the best and worst days Baggy's had - EVER.

Hormonal Hannah woke Baggy up at 3.30am with her fourth visit to the bathroom that night (bearing in mind that Baggy went to bed at 12.15am). Sigh. Each previous time, she'd gone straight back to sleep. Not this time. Baggy was too excited. At 7.00am she gave up and got up. Furry Mama took Minty for a quick walk, before Baggy and Calum set off to buy their big pressie to themselves. Any ideas bloggees?

No - how about this one then?

Oh yes bloggees, Baggy and Calum are now the proud owners of a VW campervan. Not just any old campervan either. Nope, a 1978 Champagne edition T2 bay camper van.

Now do you see why Baggy was so excited yesterday? She has wanted a campervan since she was a kid, but never thought that she'd have one, so this really is a dream come true. It's one of those: "Life's too short" purchases. Truth-be-told there have been so many demonstrations of that recently, not least of which being that had Lawrence not been an ugly, hairy, toothy lump, but what they originally thought it was, ovarian cancer, Baggy would probably now just be a memory. So with a "sod it" mentality, this morning they got the debit card out, and two minutes later - brrrrm brrrm - campervan owners! As an aside, Clever Bird could not believe that there was no security check call from the bank - no really, there wasn't!!!!!!! But Baggy was so excited that she didn't care. Billy-Bob Jalopy (Bee Bee for short has a new home (or he will have in a week or so, once he's been MOT'd etc).

He is so cute! Admittedly Baggy hasn't actually driven him yet, but Calum has, so he can teach her how to cope with left-hand-drive. He has it all! Fridge, cooker, sink, two double beds, awning, swivel chairs. Cute, cute, cute. He even has matching bunting!

Can you tell how excited Baggy and Calum were? LOVE IT!

With Baggy and Calum over-excited and Freda Fretter worrying about money (Clever Bird told her to stop it), Freda then got Baggy to drive Calum to A&E as she was determined to get his ever more purple arm checked out. After the quickest A&E visit ever - his arm is not broken. Phew. Stop fretting Freda. Food shopping. Then off to the yard so that Grotty Groom could have a cuddle with Wessles.

Baggy had a lovely cuddle as Grotty Groom gave Wesley a brush. (This wasn't today, but shows a Wesley cuddle!)

As Grotty got to Wesley's mane, Clever Bird looked, "That's odd", she thought "I must have left a plait in". As Grotty unplaited the tiny plait, something was not ringing true for Psychic Ploppo. Clever Bird shoved Hormonal Hannah's mush-brain influence aside and got Grotty to concentrate on what she had done on her last visit on Thursday: She had taken out Wesley's thick plaits; sprayed his mane with Mane and Tail Spray and brushed it through; flicked it over his neck and "back-combed" it; put it back on the correct side, then brushed it through again. There is absolutely no way that Grotty left a plait in and even if she had, this one was way too small! Baggy belatedly realised that someone else had put this plait in. Freda panicked and showed Calum the remains of the plait.

Now bloggees, for those of you who don't know, this is a method used by thieves to identify horses that they would like to steal!! It marks the horse to the thieves, but also if the plait remains in, it suggests that no one is paying intimate attention to the horse, so it might be an easy target. Baggy panicked. Hormonal Hannah put Grotty into a meltdown. Calum immediately said, "Well, they can stay in tonight". If anything awful happened to Wesley it would seriously push Baggy to the limit, in fact it would push her beyond it, so Baggy was getting more panicky by the second. Clever Bird and Calum headed off to find the yard manager and groom. They were busy poo-picking in the paddocks. But the more Clever Bird analysed the situation, the more worried she got. She needed to find out whether someone else had put the plait in (while bored and fiddling), or if it was malicious, to mess with Baggy's head (but she'd never know that unless someone admitted to it), or if they, like Baggy, thought the worst.

No one knew who had put the plait in. It was agreed that the Boys should stay in tonight - and from now on. From tomorrow they will once more be turned out during the day, instead of over night. At least Baggy might be able to sleep, knowing that they are in their stables. It's earlier than she would have wished to swap them over, but there is no way in a million years that Calum or Grotty would take any risk with those horses. But actually, it's already getting quite cold at night, especially like tonight, when heavy rain and strong winds are forecast, so the Boys will probably be grateful too. Unlike some horses, they do seem to enjoy their stables. Probably something to do with the extra hay!

Now Clever Bird has to prevent Freda Fretter from dwelling on the fact that it's possible that a total stranger was in Wesley's paddock with malicious intent, and concentrate on the fact that he's inside, warm and cosy and hopefully safe. Think campervan Baggy. What a day - talk about highs and lows. Wine is in order for Baggy...........
