Baggy felt a lot better having breakfasted, pain-killered and bathed. So much so that she forgot herself a bit. Blogged a bit with both hands. Mistake number one. Picked the kettle up with her right hand. Mistake number two. Cuddled Minty Mutt. You get the picture. Chilled on the sofa while leaping out of Deb's cleaning (Mint sick) and hoovering (Mint fur) and dusting (Mint dirt) and lighting scented candles (Mint pong) and picking things up (Creative Clara notebooks). Yes of course Furry Mama and Freda Fretter are feeling awful. No wonder Calum was at the end of his tether. Baggy's sister has already said, "It feels as though you've been here a week already and it's only two days". Oh dear. We may be here for another ten days, if we don't get thrown out first. Stop it Hormonal Hannah. So hard. Baggy hates being a burden. So does Abby. It is therefore very easy to over do it. But Deb is being amazing.
Furry Mama really wanted to go on the afternoon walk with Minty so that she could check how he was. She gave him a cup of tea with some anti-inflammatory pain killer in it. He hadn't eaten since the night before, but once he'd had the tea he decided to eat too. He looked like a puppy when Furry Mama got her boots and his collar out. Baggy put her jumper on. Totally forgot her poorly arm. Threw it on like it was okay. Ouch!!!! New bright red flashing tag on Minty Mutt's collar, we all ventured out at about 3.15pm. Mint towed Baggy (left-handed) up the path, sniffing every sniff. So we all walked through the village and up a footpath and across a golf course. Stunning area. Then Debby got Pickle's tennis ball out. Pickle went hurtling after it like a little bullet. Minty Mutt went hobbling after it like a wobbly old man, but with his tail wagging. Furry Mama is very worried that he has that horrible problem many German Shepherds have where there hips go, but he was just so happy to be out. Freda Fretter will however be taking him to the vets once we're back in Suffolk, to see whether there's anything we can do for the old lad. Hormonal Hannah had Baggy in tears as she imagined the worse, but hopefully he has a few years in him yet.
So we walked and walked. Chatting and admiring the views. Then as we were coming down a very gentle slope Baggy felt as though she had been hit in the stomach. Clever Bird was so keen for Baggy to take Furry Mama out that she just considered whether Baggy's arm would be up to it. She decided it should be okay. She forgot about the Lawrence surgery! She also had no idea that Debby was going quite so far. It was the first walk since the arm surgery five days ago. But it was also about three times as far as Baggy had walked since the Lawrence surgery. Now once more back at home, Minty Mutt is sparko. Baggy has a burning arm and for the first day in a while is well aware of her tender stomach wound, but she doesn't care! Walking is good for her recovery and it was just lovely to be out..........
