Day 29 - Recovery and Alcohol are NOT a Good Mix. Suffering.

Clever Bird was right, the Scrabble last night was never going to end well. The invalids (Baggy and Abby) and their Nurse, Debby, staggered up to bed at about 2.30am, having abandoned the game in a fit of , "this board is impossible!" alcohol-fuelled pique. Baggy is never drinking again. At least she went instantly to sleep, well after Creative Clara had read her book for a while to unscramble her brain.

Baggy sleeps with two pillows on her right side so that she can have her arm elevated. Clever Bird is sure that it was nothing at all to do with the wine, that meant that this morning Baggy woke up lying on her wounded arm. Agony. She could not move it at all. But that pain was nothing compared with the headache. Sure it must be stress. Clever Bird knows that it cannot have been the vast amount of wine consumed. (Sorry Slimming World, time Baggy at least tried to get back on plan).

When Baggy stumbled downstairs Debby was out in the rain walking the dogs. Minty Mutt is an old soul like Furry Mama now and he can't walk far, so Debby brings him back, then whips back out again with Pickle. As he came in, Baggy was too slow to react before Debby had vanished again. Painkillers. Tea. By the time she came back and made Baggy more tea and toast, Baggy was feeling vaguely okay. Bath. Towel on top of the taps in the middle of the bath meant Baggy could rest her arm away from the water and today actually managed to get out without help. She even dried herself, so maybe lying on her arm squashed the swelling out of it! It is incredibly bruised today, but Clever Bird is sure it's not as swollen. The hand and wrist certainly aren't as swollen. So Freda Fretter is feeling much better.

Minty Mutt on the other hand has been rather stressed since Calum went home. He wasn't on the wine last night, but the poor sausage was very sick in the night, all over Deb's cream carpet. Bearing in mind that Baggy has to frogmarch The Domestic Goddess in to do major work when her sister visits, this was not great in Deb's immaculate house. Made worse by the fact that Baggy wasn't up to getting Furry Mama to clean it up. More guilt.......
