Day 32 - Home Alone!

Debby and Abby have gone out for the day, so Baggy is home alone with Minty Mutt. Debby was up with the sparrows so Baggy got up too. Largely because she's in a world of pain. Clever Bird really should have kept her mouth shut about being ahead of the game on the recovery road. The nights are worse of course because the painkillers wear off and Baggy still doesn't move a muscle in her sleep, so the arm stiffens up. When she moves the blood rushes through. The pain is excruciating. It's equally as bad if Baggy has a hot flush. Freda Fretter is concerned that there may be something wrong, but Calum has just reminded Hormonal Hannah that she had much stronger painkillers last time. At least it means that Baggy's hysterectomy wound has barely hurt at all, her brain can only cope with one lot of pain.

Clever Bird noticed on the photos that Debby took of the bruising on her arm yesterday that the dressing was coming unstuck. Freda got concerned that dirt could get in the wound and the dressing has to last another week yet. In theory the hospital gave Baggy spare dressings to put on over the top of the original one. In practise they were just non-stick cotton pads. So Deb put one of those over the gap and sealed it with sticking plaster. It's going to hurt when it has to come off, but should at least keep the wound clean for another week. Stop your worrying Freda.

Freda has to be honest, she is quite worried about being on her own all day. Silly. She will be fine. Especially as "the magic fairy" sister has left absolutely everything ready for her. Bless her. All cut up, wrapped up and ready to eat. Plus Baggy has the remote control to herself so has been catching up on soaps and reality shows since 7.00am. Freda Fretter just wishes that Baggy's arm would stop with the throbbing.

Baggy is looking forward to home-made curried parsnip soup for her lunch...........
